1. Introduction

Vaksys Presenter (“the App”, “we”, “our”) is a professional utility application that enables users to control presentation software via secure Bluetooth connections and offline voice commands. VAKSYS TECHNOLOGIES PVT. LTD. (“the Company”, “the Developer”) is committed to transparency, user privacy, and responsible data handling.

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Vaksys Presenter, you explicitly and unconditionally agree to every term in this Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

This policy applies to all users of the App on all Android devices globally, including users of the free tier and the paid PRO tier.

2. Data We Collect — Plain Statement

We collect no personal data. We transmit no data off your device. We sell no data. Ever.

The sections below explain precisely how each feature operates to support this statement.

3. How Each Feature Handles Your Data

A. Microphone & Voice Commands (100% Offline)

The App uses your device microphone solely to detect specific presentation commands (e.g., “Next Slide”, “Ok Next Slide”, “Blank Screen”).

No cloud processing. All speech recognition is performed entirely on your device using the embedded Vosk offline engine. No audio is sent to any server — ours or anyone else’s.
No recording. We do not record, store, save, upload, or transmit your voice, background sounds, or any audio content.
Ephemeral processing. Audio data lives only in your device’s RAM for the fraction of a second required to recognise a command. It is permanently and automatically discarded immediately afterward.
Not always listening. The microphone is accessed only when you explicitly activate Voice Mode within the App. It is not accessed at any other time.

B. Bluetooth & Connected Devices

The App uses Bluetooth HID (Human Interface Device) technology to function as a wireless keyboard for your computer.

Direct, local connection only. All communication is a direct peer-to-peer Bluetooth link between your phone and your computer. No relay servers, no cloud routing, no intermediaries.
No device tracking. We do not log, store, or transmit the names, MAC addresses, or any identifying information of computers or other devices you connect to.
Connection history stored locally only. The App stores the name and Bluetooth MAC address of recently paired computers in your phone’s own local storage (SharedPreferences) solely to enable quick reconnection. This data never leaves your device.

C. Notifications

The App displays a persistent foreground service notification required by the Android operating system to indicate that a background Bluetooth connection is active.

What the notification shows: The name of the computer you are currently connected to (e.g., “🎙 Dell Laptop — Connected”) and a Disconnect button. When not connected, it shows “Vaksys Presenter — Ready to connect.”
No personal data. The notification contains only technical connection status. No personal information is displayed or derived.
No data collected. We do not collect, analyse, or transmit any information about whether, when, or how often you view the notification.
Why it exists. Android requires all apps running a background service to display a persistent notification. Without it, the Bluetooth connection cannot remain active when your phone screen is off during a presentation. This is a strict Android operating system requirement, not a choice made by the Developer.
Permission required. On Android 13 and newer, the App requests the POST_NOTIFICATIONS permission to display this notification. You may deny this permission; the App will function normally but the notification and its Disconnect button will not be visible.

D. Location Data

We do not collect, track, or use your geographic location for any purpose.

Android 12 and newer: The App requests the “Nearby Devices” permission to discover and connect to your computer via Bluetooth. No location data is accessed.
Android 11 and older: The Android operating system requires the “Location” permission to be granted before any Bluetooth scanning is permitted. This is an inflexible system requirement enforced by Google, not a decision by this App. Vaksys Presenter uses this permission solely to enable Bluetooth connectivity and does not read, store, or transmit your physical location under any circumstances.

E. In-App Purchases & Billing

The App offers a one-time lifetime PRO upgrade processed entirely by Google Play Billing.

We never see your payment details. All financial transactions — including credit card numbers, UPI details, and billing addresses — are handled exclusively by Google and are subject to Google’s own privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).
What we receive from Google: Only a confirmation that a valid purchase was made for your Google account. No payment method details.
Purchase state stored locally. Whether you are a free or PRO user is stored locally on your device and verified against Google Play. This status is not transmitted to us.

F. Crash Reports & Analytics

Firebase Crashlytics (anonymous crash logs): If the App crashes, Google Firebase may collect an anonymous, aggregated crash report to help us identify and fix bugs. This report does not include your name, email, location, or any personally identifiable information.
We do not run our own analytics servers. We do not track usage patterns, session lengths, feature usage, or behavioural data.

G. Usage Tracking for In-App Prompts (Local Only)

To decide when to show relevant upgrade suggestions (e.g., after a user has connected to a PC multiple times), the App tracks certain counters locally on your device:

Number of PC connections
Number of slides changed in a session
Whether the daily free limit was reached today
Which promotional message was last shown and when

All of this data is stored exclusively in your phone’s local storage (SharedPreferences). None of it is transmitted to us, to Google (beyond standard crash logs), or to any third party.

4. Permissions — Full Disclosure

`FOREGROUND_SERVICE`	To run a background service that maintains the Bluetooth connection
`FOREGROUND_SERVICE_CONNECTED_DEVICE`	Required by Android 14+ to declare the foreground service type
`FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MICROPHONE`	Required by Android 14+ when microphone may be used from a foreground service
`POST_NOTIFICATIONS`	Android 13+ only — to display the foreground service notification showing connection status and the Disconnect button

We share no personal data with any third party, period.

The only data flows involving third parties are:

Google Play Billing: Receives payment information when you purchase PRO. We receive only a purchase confirmation. Governed by Google’s privacy policy.
Google Firebase: May receive anonymous crash logs if the App crashes. No personal data included.
No advertising networks. We do not display third-party ads or share data with ad networks.
No data brokers. We do not sell, rent, or trade any data.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Since we collect no personal data on our servers, there is nothing for us to delete. All local App data (connection history, usage counters, preferences) can be deleted at any time by:

Clearing the App’s data in your phone’s Settings → Apps → Vaksys Presenter → Storage → Clear Data
Uninstalling the App

7. Children’s Privacy

Vaksys Presenter is a professional productivity utility. It is not directed at, designed for, or intended to be used by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. If you believe a child has used this App, please contact us at hello@vaksystech.com and we will take appropriate action.

Users in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or India (under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023) have the following rights. Because we collect no personal data on our servers, most of these rights are automatically and fully satisfied:

Right to access: We hold no personal data about you on any server.
Right to erasure: All local data can be deleted by clearing App data or uninstalling (see Section 6).
Right to portability: No personal data is held by us.
Right to object / restrict processing: We perform no processing of personal data.
Right to lodge a complaint: You may contact the relevant data protection authority in your jurisdiction.

9. Security

While we collect no personal data, we take the following steps to ensure the App operates securely:

All Bluetooth communication is encrypted using the Bluetooth HID security model enforced by the Android operating system.
No network connections are made by the core App functionality (voice processing and slide control work entirely offline).
Local storage is protected by Android’s application sandbox — other apps cannot access Vaksys Presenter’s local storage.

10. Limitation of Liability

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

To the absolute maximum extent permitted by applicable law — including but not limited to the Information Technology Act, 2000 (India), the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 (India), and any equivalent legislation in your jurisdiction — VAKSYS TECHNOLOGIES PVT. LTD. and its directors, officers, employees, contractors, and affiliates shall NOT be liable for any loss or damage of any nature arising from or related to your use of or inability to use the App, including without limitation:

Presentation Failures: Any consequences of a failed, interrupted, delayed, or technically malfunctioned presentation, including without limitation: lost business opportunities, failed academic or professional examinations or defences, loss of clients or contracts, financial loss, reputational harm, or emotional distress.
Technical Failures: Bluetooth interference, operating system updates, battery failure, device incompatibility, software conflicts, or any other hardware or software failure.
Indirect & Consequential Loss: Any indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages, even if the Developer has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Safety: Accidents, personal injury, property damage, or any other harm arising from distraction or misuse while operating the App.
Third-Party Conduct: Any action or failure to act by Google, Bluetooth device manufacturers, presentation software vendors, or any other third party.

Total aggregate liability of VAKSYS TECHNOLOGIES PVT. LTD., if any, shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

You acknowledge that you use Vaksys Presenter entirely at your own risk and that you bear sole responsibility for testing the App in your specific environment before using it for critical, high-stakes, or time-sensitive presentations.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless VAKSYS TECHNOLOGIES PVT. LTD. and its directors, officers, employees, and contractors from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the App; (b) your violation of this Policy; or (c) your violation of any applicable law.

12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

This Privacy Policy and any disputes arising from it shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute shall first be attempted to be resolved amicably by contacting hello@vaksystech.com. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hyderabad, Telangana, India.

13. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the “Effective Date” at the top of this document. Continued use of the App after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
